Not able to get a simple Spring web application working :(

I am not able to run the sample web application provided on the spring website. Feeling so depressed.

    Figured this out. I was not able to connect to the remote maven repo due to a VPN issue. Should have figured this out earlier, but nonetheless, I feel good that this is working finally :)
